Bill,

I’ve been having problems with these pictures you’ve been developing for me. The borders keep disappearing. The harder I try, the more they seem to disappear. It seems either I keep shooting over someone’s shoulder, or in to their hair. I saw that a few managed to capture at least part of their faces, but I don’t think I was really trying with those, or that they even cared. they don’t seem like they are. That’s gotten me to think, that maybe I’m caring too much. I wonder if that even comes across when I do. Because then I’m taking the picture with my head and the camera is getting something else. I’ve been moaning about these last few rolls I sent you to develop, and I figured I should let you know as to my new conclusions. It isn’t you, I never meant to imply it was you, I know you do good work, I’ve seen what you do, that’s why I sent it to you in the first place. But I’ve been thinking, as I mentioned, and I think the problem is me. I still don’t know if the problem arrives when I take the picture before, during or after. I need to pinpoint when the other picture is taken, and either just be happy with that and save a little bit more of the silver reserves left, or  try not to develop those ones at all. But I think the camera "up there" is a polaroid or something, and it’s too damn easy. It just pops out. These ones take time, and that’s good, but that time may be what makes me feel like wanting something I already have. Waiting for something I’ve already passed on. so, in other words, don’t bother with the second set this time.

Jim
